Asia Cup 2018: The battle of the Asian Cricketing Giants

Fourteenth addition of the Asia Cup is set to begin on September 15, 2018 in United Arab Emirates. It is the third time UAE is hosting the event having done before in 1984 and 1995. There are 6 teams taking part in arguably the most awaited Cricketing Event of the year.
According to the format of the tournament, the teams are divided into two groups. Group A consists of Pakistan, India and Hong Kong and Group B consists of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
The top two teams from each group will then participate in a Super four stage. The winner and the runner-up of this round will then participate in the Final.
India is the defending champion and the most successful team of the competition since its inauguration in 1984 having won the event six times. Sri Lanka is the second most successful team having won the tournament 5 times. Pakistan has been victorious in this cup only two times in 2000 and 2012.
